Mastro Geppetto: Liscia Bent Brandy (3) Tobacco Pipe

Product Number: 002-819-1237

Giancarlo Guidi founded Ser Jacopo in 1982, building a reputation on crafting high-quality briars that are renowned for their robust proportions and playful shaping cues. The Italian atelier's style has since defined the Pesaro style of pipe making, each of their pipes imbued with a sense of character and reflecting the whimsical creativity that went into crafting them. Mastro Geppetto is Ser Jacopo's sub-brand of more accessibly priced pipes that still maintain a high-quality of workmanship. Crafted in the Ser Jacopo workshop, these pieces embody the playful Pesaro style of their pricier counterparts, with this bent Brandy being an excellent example. Supple and handsomely curved throughout, the visual center of this piece is the bowl, one which here stands atop a rounded, slightly lifted heel. This lift pushes a plump, low-set waistline into prominence and marks the start of sleekly tapering walls that cant forward gently, maintaining a soft curvature as they rise to the rim. A wide transition here gives way to a curling shank that rises to meet a smartly downturned stem of sunny, tapering acrylic, affording this pipe a comfortable smoking posture. Dressed in a warm, very light stain, the briar showcases a wealth of handsome grain throughout, with swirling birdseye across the flanks of the bowl.
