Mastro Geppetto: Liscia Paneled Bent Billiard (1) Tobacco Pipe

Product Number: 002-819-1319

Giancarlo Guidi founded Ser Jacopo in 1982, building a reputation on crafting high-quality briars that are renowned for their robust proportions and playful shaping cues. The Italian atelier's style has since defined the Pesaro style of pipe making, each of their pipes imbued with a sense of character and reflecting the whimsical creativity that went into crafting them. Mastro Geppetto is Ser Jacopo's sub-brand of more accessibly priced pipes that still maintain a high-quality of workmanship. Crafted in the Ser Jacopo workshop, these pieces embody the playful Pesaro style of their pricier counterparts, with this paneled bent Billiard being an excellent example. A firm and lithe take on the shape, this piece features a sleek and sinuous combination of shank and stem that keeps this piece rooted in neoclassical sensibility. The transition here is wide and leaves plenty of room to drape a thumb, the shank itself taking on a square shape before curling and tapering to meet the similarly tapering stem of black acrylic. The stem is comparatively long, and its languid arc lend this pipe a gracile look which pushes more of the visual weight toward the bowl. Up front, the bowl stands on a rounded heel and grows its walls toward a domed rim, its circumference rounded by an octet of firm panels and showcasing handsome grain beneath the stummel's warm stain.
