Mastro Geppetto: Sabbiato Billiard (9mm) Tobacco Pipe

Product Number: 002-819-1322

Giancarlo Guidi founded Ser Jacopo in 1982, building a reputation on crafting high-quality briars that are renowned for their robust proportions and playful shaping cues. The Italian atelier's style has since defined the Pesaro style of pipe making, each of their pipes imbued with a sense of character and reflecting the whimsical creativity that went into crafting them. Mastro Geppetto is Ser Jacopo's sub-brand of more accessibly priced pipes that still maintain a high-quality of workmanship. Crafted in the Ser Jacopo workshop, these pieces embody the playful Pesaro style of their pricier counterparts, with this Billiard being an excellent example. A rather timeless example of its namesake shape, this pipe is more classically-oriented than many of Gepetto's other works, though it still features a few neoclassical qualities. The most immediately apparent of these qualities is its rather tall bowl, one which features ample rounding about its flanks and an easy taper to the rim. A wide transition out back gives way to a similarly tapering shank that diminishes toward a sleek stem of swirling red and black acrylic which continues the taper to the button: its base accented with a band of pale acrylic. Dressed in a crisp tanblast, the bowl here showcases some handsome, rippling grain on the left flank, with the shank providing a lively dose of contrast.
