Mastro Geppetto: Rusticato Paneled Billiard (9mm) Tobacco Pipe

Product Number: 002-819-1347

Giancarlo Guidi founded Ser Jacopo in 1982, building a reputation on crafting high-quality briars that are renowned for their robust proportions and playful shaping cues. The Italian atelier's style has since defined the Pesaro style of pipe making, each of their pipes imbued with a sense of character and reflecting the whimsical creativity that went into crafting them. Mastro Geppetto is Ser Jacopo's sub-brand of more accessibly priced pipes that still maintain a high-quality of workmanship. Crafted in the Ser Jacopo workshop, these pieces embody the playful Pesaro style of their pricier counterparts, with this paneled Billiard being an excellent example. A sleekly aerodynamic piece that's rich with angular charm, this pipe is a thoroughly modernist take on the shape which immediately draws the eye. The transition is wide enough to drape a digit and gives way to a tapering shank and stem combination possessed of a crisp, paneled structure. Up front, the bowl stands on a pronounced heel, growing walls that are, like the stem, surrounded by panels and which taper and cant forward as they rise to the rim. Dressed in a craggy rustication and a deep, dark, auburn stain, the stummel here is rich with texture throughout.
