Mastro Geppetto: Liscia Bent Apple with Bamboo (2) Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 002-819-1353
Giancarlo Guidi founded Ser Jacopo in 1982, building a reputation on crafting high-quality briars that are renowned for their robust proportions and playful shaping cues. The Italian atelier's style has since defined the Pesaro style of pipe making, each of their pipes imbued with a sense of character and reflecting the whimsical creativity that went into crafting them. Mastro Geppetto is Ser Jacopo's sub-brand of more accessibly priced pipes that still maintain a high-quality of workmanship. Crafted in the Ser Jacopo workshop, these pieces embody the playful Pesaro style of their pricier counterparts, with this bent Apple being an excellent example. A wide transition here centers the visual weight, allowing for the easy draping of a digit and giving way to a lifting round shank, one that's paired to a two-knuckle stretch of bamboo. A demurely curved saddle stem marries to the bamboo and lends this pipe a comfortable smoking posture, the shank and stem here creating a significant vertical presence that pulls some of the focus away from the bowl. Dressed in a deep, chestnut-hued stain, the stummel here showcases a wealth of handsome grain throughout, the pale tones of the bamboo providing striking contrast.
