Mastro Geppetto: Liscia Bent Apple (2) Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 002-819-1485
Giancarlo Guidi founded Ser Jacopo in 1982, building a reputation on crafting high-quality briars that are renowned for their robust proportions and playful shaping cues. The Italian atelier's style has since defined the Pesaro style of pipe making, each of their pipes imbued with a sense of character and reflecting the whimsical creativity that went into crafting them. Mastro Geppetto is Ser Jacopo's sub-brand of more accessibly priced pipes that still maintain a high quality of workmanship. Crafted in the Ser Jacopo workshop, these pieces embody the playful Pesaro style of their pricier counterparts, with this bent Apple being an excellent example. A lovely example of the Italian neoclassical style, this pipe showcases a thoroughly bowl-forward build thanks to said bowl's impressive dimensions. Nearly two inches in height and almost as broad as it is tall, the bowl is supple and round and features ample curvature for the fingers to appreciate: the walls taking on an arcing taper to the rim and a dynamic forward cant. A wide transition out back leads into a comparatively slender shank and stem combination, the shank subtly curling out to meet a demurely curved saddle stem of vibrant, sunny acrylic. Dressed in a warm, rich, chestnut-hued finish, the stummel showcases handsome grain, nicely contrasted by the expressive hues of the stem.
