Founded in 1982, Ser Jacopo is now one of the most influential and iconic pipe brands throughout Italy. Founded by Giancarlo Guidi, this workshop helped popularize Pesaro shaping and is known for working with high-quality briar to create whimsical and flamboyant pieces that exaggerate the classic Italian style. A Ser Jacopo sub-brand, Mastro Geppetto offers similarly playful pipes, including this Volcano. Up front, the bowl is paneled across all flanks, adding a touch of angularity to a usually soft shape. Said bowl is tall, measuring nearly two and a half inches in height and housing a deep tobacco chamber, making this a great option for those seeking lengthy smoking sessions. The transition lends plenty of room to wrap the thumb as it gives way to a high-kicking shank-and-stem combination, the latter tapering to the bit.
