Mastro Geppetto: Liscia Poker (2) Tobacco Pipe

Product Number: 002-819-1606

Giancarlo Guidi founded Ser Jacopo in 1982, building a reputation on crafting high-quality briars that are renowned for their robust proportions and playful shaping cues. The Italian atelier's style has since defined the Pesaro style of pipe making, each of their pipes imbued with a sense of character and reflecting the whimsical creativity that went into crafting them. Mastro Geppetto is Ser Jacopo's sub-brand of more accessibly priced pipes that still maintain a high-quality of workmanship. Crafted in the Ser Jacopo workshop, these pieces embody the playful Pesaro style of their pricier counterparts, with this Poker being an excellent example. This pipe immediately calls to mind Dunhill's iconic Duke shape, being bereft of shank and instead pairing its stem directly to the aft wall of the bowl. Said stem is a sleek and slender length of swirling black and white acrylic that introduces a wealth of pale color to the composition and features a saddle bit. The bowl stands sturdily atop a flattened heel and grows cylindrical walls that rise to meet a gently sloped rim, creating a sturdy look and a firm presence in hand. Dressed in a smooth, chestnut-toned finish, the stummel here showcases handsome grain throughout.
