Mastro Geppetto: Liscia Bent Dublin Churchwarden (2) Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 002-819-1617
Giancarlo Guidi founded Ser Jacopo in 1982, building a reputation on crafting high-quality briars that are renowned for their robust proportions and playful shaping cues. The Italian atelier's style has since defined the Pesaro style of pipe making, each of their pipes imbued with a sense of character and reflecting the whimsical creativity that went into crafting them. Mastro Geppetto is Ser Jacopo's sub-brand of more accessibly priced pipes that still maintain a high-quality of workmanship. Crafted in the Ser Jacopo workshop, these pieces embody the playful Pesaro style of their pricier counterparts, with this bent Dublin Churchwarden being an excellent example. This Churchwarden boasts a long, demurely curved stem married to a short, tapering, straight shank, creating a unique smoking posture and admirably supporting the bowl. Said bowl stands on a rounded heel and cants forward dynamically, poising its flared walls nimbly and drawing the eye to the fore immediately as it rises to a softly domed rim. The thick walls of the bowl are impressively tall and admirably insulate a capacious chamber for comfortable, extended smoking sessions. The stummel is dressed in a deep, chestnut-toned stain that showcases handsome grain throughout, with plenty of birdseye to appreciate across the bowl.
