Micah Redmond: Smooth Acorn with Bakelite Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 002-774-0009
This extra-lively, sinuously poised Acorn shape was fashioned by Micah Redmond for our 2017 American Exposition, making use of some antique bakelite he sourced with fellow carver Sam Abedayo, and incorporating some colors and hues we previously haven't seen in pipemaking as a result. He opted for a slightly downturned saddle stem of electric mauve bakelite in this case, terminating at the end of a lenticular, flaring shank, with the eye led to it by some lively, contrast-stained, windswept flame. It makes for something of a Danish modern aesthetic, paired as it is with a soft-lined Acorn bowl, and housing a fairly compact chamber. Excellent work from Micah Redmond.
