Micah Redmond: Sandblasted Tomato Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 002-774-0056
One of Micah Redmond's long-shanked Tomato offerings, this piece is an interpretation of the American carver's own signature Tomato design, the typically compact concept lent some considerable length thanks to the elongated form out back. The bowl remains as squat and bulbous as his other iterations, though, defined by a bulbous aesthetic yet imbued with a strong degree of forward momentum initiated by the subtly bent stem and continued through the flowing shank, easy transition, and forward-inclined line at the bowl's aft. In this particular rendition, Micah has lent the flanks of the bowl in a unique, asymmetrical fashion, creating a plump and organic silhouette. Lastly, it's all dressed in a crisp, ruby sandblast for an intriguing texture, with a domed vulcanite saddle stem promoting a comfortable smoking posture out back. It's yet another stunning addition to Micah's portfolio and further proof of the carver's creativity as he continues to produce unique versions of his own shapes.
