Michael Parks: Sandblasted Danish Bulldog with Moose Antler (IV.15) Tobacco Pipe

A warm, lively composition is presented here with this Danish Bulldog from Canadian artisan Michael Parks. The rich sandblast has here accentuated such defined grain that the resulting surface of the poised bowl structure resembles, to my eye at least, that of a beehive. The vertically compressed diamond shank continues through to the heel, forming a crisp point at the base of the bowl. A moose antler accent and a brindled vulcanite stem that swirls tan, red, brown, and cream complete the image, and the result is nothing short of a charming masterpiece.
