Michael Parks: Sandblasted Billiard (VI.21) Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 002-473-0102
Michael Parks is a Canadian pipe artisan perhaps best known for his incredible sculptural creations, but also boasting a broad portfolio with his own take on classic designs. This straight Billiard is a great example of the latter, offering the well-balanced proportions that have made the shape so popular for over a century, with a bit of softness to its profile.
It's dressed in a stimulating black sandblast to showcase excellent cross grain, with the entire left flank covered in a resplendent field of blasted birdseye. A dark and complex stain adds greater depths of mystery, while a discrete chamfer at the edge of the chamber and a thin ring at the shank end are finished smooth for subtle contrast. The stem is a sleek taper of jet-black vulcanite, unifying with the stummel's dark hue as it races to an exquisitely hand-crafted lip button.
