Mike Sebastian Bay: Rusticated Bent Billiard with Bamboo Tobacco Pipe

Product Number: 002-820-0011

Michael Sebastian Bay is a skilled Danish pipe maker who has been apprenticing under Tom Eltang. If you're at all familiar with Eltang's work, you probably noticed his style of rustication adorning this bent Billiard. Along with tutoring Mike about various other aspects of pipe making, Tom also gave Bay his blessing to use his signature rustication. In this specific piece, Mike has fitted the rusticated bowl on the end of a bamboo shank. I will say, though, that the pictures of this piece can be somewhat deceiving, as they make the pipe appear longer that it actually is. In reality, it's under five and a half inches long, yet Bay has somehow managed to fit four knuckles of bamboo into the shank, making for a truly magnificent ferrule. It's then, topped with a slightly bent, diminutive mouthpiece that shows of Bay's exquisite button work.
