Mike Sebastian Bay: Smooth Bent Dublin with Mammoth Tobacco Pipe

Product Number: 002-820-0044

A shape we've seen a couple of times before from Mike Sebastian Bay, this perfectly balanced bent Dublin is starting to become something of a signature rendition from the Danish artisan. It's an excellent blend of Danish minimalism and stunning elegance: The flattened underside adds a dose of architectural rigidity, firmly defining the form's base while the rest of the piece remains smooth and clean-lined above. It creates a subtle point at the fore in profile where the heel meets the upward rising bowl, contributing to the bowl's forward-canted posture and continuing the implied momentum initiated by the stem's downward turn. Gently curling through the shank, the transition flares slightly into the bowl, the rim above softly inflated. Presentation-wise, this piece couldn't be more beautiful — the stummel is wrapped in sweeping flame grain, and the dark, chestnut contrast stain draws focus to the pearlescent hues of the mammoth accent along the stem base.
