Mike Sebastian Bay: Rusticated Billiard with Camel Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 002-820-0102
Danish artisan Mike Sebastian Bay began carving pipes quite by chance. While seeking someone to repair his father's old pipes, he encountered a certain Tom Eltang. The two quickly bonded, and Eltang became his mentor, guiding him through the process of making his own high-quality pipes. Now a highly respected artisan in his own right, Bay puts those early lessons to use, incorporating elements of Eltang's style into his own aesthetic.
A fine example of Bay's style, this Billiard features a pert bowl that rests on a rounded heel at the fore of a slim round shank with a playful forward cant. Out back, a vulcanite saddle stem offers an effortless clench, adorned with a bright white accent of camel bone. Dressed in the unique rustication technique that Bay adapted from Tom Eltang, the stummel offers a wealth of engaging texture in a deep ruby hue, handsomely accented by a light, smooth rim.
