Mike Sebastian Bay: Rusticated Billiard with Horn Tobacco Pipe

Mike Sebastian Bay is known for his functional and aesthetically rich design sensibility that prioritizes slender, lightweight compositions and clean, legible lines. Such is the case with this Billiard, which is as classically Danish as they come. As is common in Danish pipe making, the upright bowl here possesses a Brandy-like build, offering a wide heel and a steady taper to a flat rim. Said bowl is situated at the fore of a trim shank that reaches outward to a ferrule of cream-colored horn. A trim tapered stem tops off the composition, its pearly hues mirroring the tones of the accent. To complement the refined shaping, Bay has dressed this piece in his signature rustication, which mirrors the look and texture of an extra-craggy sandblast.
