Moonshine: Leather Sandblasted Stoker with Amber Stem Tobacco Pipe

Moonshine's portfolio features two renditions of the iconic Poker shape: the Stoker and the Patriot. Both embody the brand's signature shaping style of compact dimensions and robust proportions, but they differ slightly in subtle details. Namely, while both fall clearly within Nosewarmer territory, the Stoker is a touch shorter than the Patriot, abbreviating the shank even more for a tight-knit profile. Also, the Patriot's bowl is slightly more robust and stout compared to the Stoker's taller expanse. Such differences make the Stoker more clearly distinguished as a pocket pipe, with the Patriot offering a more robust aesthetic and more balanced proportions between the shank and stem. Those aspects are well represented here in this particular Stoker rendition, making for a workhorse pipe that's perfect for travel and on-the-go enjoyment.

Every Moonshine stummel is carved on CNC (computer numerical control) machines at the BriarWorks factory in Columbia, Tennessee. Though each individual pipe is based on pre-established templates for consistent shaping across renditions, the stem-fitting and finishing processes are entirely hand-applied by the American workshop's team of artisans: Pete Prevost, Bill Shalosky, Micah Redmond, and Sam Adebayo. All four men are artisan pipe makers in their own rights, and BriarWorks' production model of combining mass-production processes with hand-applied, artisanal techniques results in modestly priced pipes with the engineering and aesthetic quality of handmade work. This particular Moonshine example wears the workshop's Leather sandblasted finish, offering rugged texture and a rustic persona.
