Musico: Sandblasted Billiard with Boxwood (Floodlight)
Product Number: 002-008-0375
While the push-style tenon and general shape of this compact Billiard isn't atypical of Musico's style, the use of boxwood is a more rare accent from the Italian workshop. It's used to great effect on this composition, with the medium's pale hue standing out in stark contrast against the vulcanite stem and the stummel's dark stain. The sandblasted finish is remarkably craggy and reminiscent of the type seen on older Dunhills, with undulating waves of grain cascading down the flanks of the tall, upright bowl. If you're a fan of pocket-friendly renditions of shape-chart standards or textured finishes, this piece will be hard to pass up.-Truett Smith
