While relatively abbreviated in terms of length, just a bit past five inches from end to end, this piece still maintains a palatable muscularity to its construction, especially along the heavy-set bowl, which features the form's characteristic domed rim and wrapping ridgeline. The shank-and-stem arrangement is rather sinuously bent, striking a subtle S-curve out back that adds a touch of fluidity to the composition and promotes a comfortable smoking posture. Dressed in an inky sandblast and accented with a band of sterling silver, this piece is bold, handsome, and undoubtedly charming.
