The story of the Musico workshop began with Giorgio Musico, who frequently bought pipes from Italian pipe maker Fritz Becker. Their sons, Massimo Musico and Paolo Becker, would go on to found the Becker & Musico workshop, which primarily crafted classic pipe shapes. Eventually, the two went their separate ways, with Massimo Musico continuing to pursue a traditional aesthetic. This Bulldog by Musico is an incredibly compact composition, measuring less than five inches long, but retaining the muscular build associated with the form. Shape-wise, this piece boasts a stocky, beadline-wrapped bowl that stands at the fore of a diamond shank and a trim saddle stem, the latter of which promotes a comfortable clench. A crisp tanblast dresses the stummel and highlights rugged grain across the briar's surface, while an accent of bone adorns the junction and complements the pipe's warm color palette.
