Musico: Sandblasted Bent Billiard with Silver (Floodlight Special) Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 002-008-0896
The story of the Musico workshop began with Giorgio Musico, who frequently bought pipes from Italian pipe maker Fritz Becker. Their sons, Massimo Musico and Paolo Becker, would go on to found the Becker & Musico workshop, which primarily crafted classic pipe shapes. Eventually, the two went their separate ways, with Massimo Musico continuing to pursue a traditional aesthetic. This bent Billiard by Musico is a handsome rendition of the classic form, its posture and proportions immediately reminiscent of traditional Anglo-French classics. Shape-wise, this piece boasts a stocky, thick-walled bowl that stands at the fore of an upturned shank and a demurely curved tapered stem, the latter of which promotes a comfortable smoking posture. A crisp, earthy sandblast dresses the composition and highlights lively grain across the briar's surface, while a sterling silver accent marks the junction and provides a touch of regal flare to the overall form.
