Neerup: Basic Sandblasted Paneled Bent Brandy (2)
Product Number: 002-203-1300
The inclusion of the word "Basic" in the title of this bent Brandy, falls into question (as does "paneled", but that's best left for another discussion), not that I think the pipe maker is at fault, but more out of intrigue, as I would love to understand the choice behind it. Maybe it is to my own discredit, but I assume that when a pipe is labeled "Basic" it implies that it has some kind of traditional heritage to its shape, which this pipe definitely does, but when Peder Jeppesen uses "Basic", I feel it is both in shape design and its aesthetic of organic simplicity, having some "down-to-earth" connotation, as if the pipe had been pulled up from the earth, in its raw state. I could see some Midwestern farmer plucking it up from the soil and handing it over to his young son, "What you got here is your basic paneled bent Brandy, and from the looks of it, its gonna be a good harvest this year."
