Neerup: P. Jeppesen Handmade Ida Sandblasted Giant Freehand Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 002-203-5539
Massive, thick-walled, and covered in blasted grain, this appropriately titled Giant Freehand is a great example of Peder Jeppesen's approach to Freehand shaping: a focus on the grain and creating organic, almost geological forms. Both are quite evident in this piece, with acres of plateau along the rim, and brilliant waves of rippling growth rings all around, expertly highlighted by an extra-dark stain. Its plateau rim ensures endless texture, while the shank face features a patch of plateau to complement the broad, dramatically flaring rim.
