Neerup: P. Jeppesen Handmade Ida Smooth Giant Freehand
Product Number: 002-203-5599
Peder Jeppesen's Handmade Ida series primarily consists of Freehand designs that don't adhere to Neerup's standard lines. Each piece is handmade from start to finish by Peder and his son Christian and represent more individualized styles. One such piece is presented here, taking the form of a massive, asymmetric Freehand that's steeped in organicism and utterly unique in its execution. The bowl is in a loose triangular shape and steps down dramatically to the long, curving shank. My favorite aspect about this piece is the way in which the plateau has been oriented, wrapping around the bowl's left flank, continuing all the way to the slanted shank face. The entire top and bottom is covered in horizontal flame grain while birdseye is beautifully framed along the shank's right side.- Jeffery Sitts
