Neerup: P. Jeppesen Handmade High Grade Smooth Paneled Bent Dublin
Product Number: 002-203-6611
Maintaining Peder Jeppensen's penchant for hearty, palm-filling designs, this bent Dublin pairs a large bowl, flared at the rim and wearing a rugged crown of dark plateau, to a long, triangle shank and brief, multi-hued acrylic stem. The deep curvature of the piece is accentuated by the crisp, pronounced lines of the triangle shank and paneled bowl, drawing the eye from the rim, to the fine cheeking of the transition, and across the shank to its face, which wears an accent of plateau to match the bowl. The lifted heel and slanted rim imbue a forward momentum to the piece, with the bowl's front rim raised slightly above the rest of the stummel before gradually sloping downwards. Dressed in a lively contrast stain for which Jeppensen is know, the briar's grain is brought on in stark relief across the stummel, with flame grain streaking across the shank and bowl in tight bands, while constellations of lush birdseye adorn the heel and underside of the shank.--Davin Hylton
