This bent Apple from Peder Jeppesen of Neerup belongs to his Handmade series, a line of pipes that are, appropriately, fashioned entirely by hand. This particular offering features a stocky, round bowl that's paired to a curvaceous shank-and-stem arrangement. The design is muscular and stout in its construction, but the shank and stem work in concert to keep the composition somewhat fluid in profile, while also providing a comfortable smoking posture. A warm, honey-auburn smooth finish dresses the stummel and accentuates the fine strands of flame grain on all sides of the bowl, with the broad rim displaying a dense sea of birdseye.
