Neerup: P. Jeppesen Handmade Ida Easy Cut Smooth Bent Apple (5) Tobacco Pipe

This bent Apple from Peder Jeppesen of Neerup belongs to his Handmade series, a line of pipes that are, appropriately, fashioned entirely by hand. This particular offering features a stocky, round bowl that's paired to a curvaceous shank-and-stem arrangement. The design is muscular and stout in its construction, but the shank and stem work in concert to keep the composition somewhat fluid in profile, while also providing a comfortable smoking posture. A warm, mahogany contrast stain dresses the stummel and accentuates the fine strands of cross grain on either flank of the bowl, while the underside is covered in birdseye, the heel kissed with natural plateau for a bit of subtle organicism.
