Neerup: P. Jeppesen Boutique Smooth Bent Billiard with Silver (4) Tobacco Pipe

After studying under such names as Karl Erik and Erik Nørding, Peder Jeppesen gained a wealth of knowledge about the pipe making craft. As the designer of Neerup pipes, Peder continues to apply this experience with the assistance of his son Christian. Among Neerup's offerings is their Boutique series, presenting the workshop's signature shaping and handmade craftsmanship with a line of silver accoutrements, as seen here. This bent Billiard from Neerup displays the workshop's penchant for strapping proportions. A towering bowl stands at the fore with an upright posture, formed by sturdy walls reaching high from the subtly upturned heel toward the rim, which features a slight groove near the aft for a playful touch. Transitioning from the bowl is a lengthy, muscular shank that lifts to meet an arcing saddle stem of jet-black acrylic, the junction adorned with an intricately engraved silver accent. Dressed in the Jeppesen's distinct contrast finish, the stummel wears a warm, smooth stain that highlights handsome grain throughout.
