Nikolay Kozyrev: Sandblasted Bent Egg with Boxwood Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 002-773-0012
Nikolay Kovyrev's shaping aesthetic, like those of many skilled pipemakers, is quite difficult to pigeonhole into one singular category. And his bent shapes often seem to tread not only stylistic lines, but geometric classifications as well. This bent Egg, for example, seems to exude a sense of substantial muscularity in hand, but when viewed in profile, is an especially graceful, sweeping number. Finished in a crisp, light-depth sandblast paired to a light, honey-blonde boxwood mount, the eye is guided to a neat, short-throw saddle stem. Impressive work here.
