Nikolay Kozyrev: Sandblasted Bent Brandy with Horn
Product Number: 002-773-0013
While in profile this bent Brandy presents lithe, elegant lines and a charming plumpness, in hand it carries a touch of Pot-like stoutness, its bowl and chamber alike offering a good bit of breadth. The result is a tasteful combination of firm presence and crisp texture, the latter brought out through a low-profile, extra dark sandblast. The lightness in profile comes from a delicate use of line, with a trim taper from base to rim along the bowl mirrored by a similar taper through the shank, which does not end at the horn mount, but carries through to the stem's broad base. It's excellent work, and a lovely example of Nikolay's ability to craft classics that just seem effortless.
