P. Piazzolla Pipes
With over 50 years' experience, French pipe maker Pascal Piazzolla has been a mainstay in and around St. Claude for decades. He designed shapes for a number of famous marques, including Butz-Choquin, Jeantet, and Lacroix, before setting up a workshop roughly an hour-or-so's drive from the "Birthplace of the Briar Pipe." From there, he developed his own signature style, working with a number of different accent materials and carved motifs; he also set up a museum specifically devoted to showcasing the traditional French pipe making process.
It was with this reverence for tradition that Pascal sought to create a series of true French classics, presented simply, just as they were during the heyday of French factory marques. From slender, Bing-style Billiards and neat paneled Bulldogs and Acorns, to gently-rounded Apple and Tomato renditions, you can find all of these charming pieces below — all finished in an array of smooth finishes, and all offered at seriously accessible price points.
