Pete Prevost: Smooth Long Shank Sitter Tobacco Pipe

In addition to his position as Executive VP and Director of Production at BriarWorks International, overseeing every aspect of production under the Icarus, Neptune, and BriarWorks marques, Pete Prevost has managed to find some hidden hours of the day to create a small number of quality, handmade briars under his own name again. We haven't seen Pete's private briars in some time now, but he's back. And back for the long haul.

One of his signature designs, this Long Shank Sitter combines a number of Pete's influences and styles — marrying a rather Danish arcing curve and dynamism with the more streamlined nature of his more elongated, industrial forms. The result is a truly unmistakable profile, ripe with jaunty playfulness in way of heel and shank. It also happens to be one of the next shapes to be featured in BriarWork's "Signature Series."

This particular number is capped in craggy plateau along the rim and shank end, and finished in a bold contrast — working to highlight some pretty spectacular flame jumping up all around the bowl. It's nice to see Pete exploring his own brand again. He has anything but lost his touch.
