Pete Prevost: Sandblasted Long Shank Tomato Tobacco Pipe

Pete Prevost's work tends to go in one of two directions: a substantial bundle of energy or an exercise in outright slenderness. This Long Shank Tomato seems to split the difference slightly, though it definitely ebbs more to the slimmer end of the spectrum. The squat, rounded bowl is pretty square of proportions, though still on par with something like a Group 1, and the warm, dark crimson sandblasted finish and smooth-polished rim makes for an excellent means of dressing this playfully streamlined number from Pete. A lovely piece.
