Pete Prevost: Sandblasted Pot with Horn Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 002-532-0048
Pete Prevost truly excels at this sort of piece, the likes of which exist in a liminal space between stout and compact. We've seen it with other Pot renditions from the carver, but we've also seen it with his deeply-bent Swan shape, and also with one especially petite rendition of his lively Volcano shape. Here, that metaphorical line is much more obvious, as the Pot is a shape which lends itself to stoutness, and thus seems a natural fit for this sort of almost tubular shaping. Pete's dressed it in a warm sandblast, lending the bowl's rim a soft, neat chamfer, not to mention a touch of smooth, warm finish, serving as a counterpoint to the domed mount of near-translucent horn. A really cool piece.
