Pete Prevost: Sandblasted Bent Apple Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 002-532-0053
Fitting well into the compact and chubby end of Pete Prevost's shaping spectrum, this stout bent Apple is a design we've seen before from the artisan, doing well to blend his Danish-influenced style with the muscular, American Industrial aesthetic. At under four-and-a-half inches in length, it's a veritable Nosewarmer yet isn't one that's going to get lost in your hand, offering plenty of substantive mass to grip. Much of this compact robustness is achieved by the fact the bowl itself could fit a pipe considerably longer, but Pete has kept the shank here extremely abbreviated — the domed base of the saddle stem rivaling the shank in total length. Designed for reliability and sturdy ruggedness, this piece sits sturdily upon a flat surface, and the simple, dark stain and rustic sandblast ensure any handling marks picked up over the years won't be readily noticeable. Perfectly suited to serving as a workhorse smoker, Pete didn't skimp at all when it came to the details: The bit work is sublime and comfortably trim, the engineering pristine, and the finish, while understated, boasts a gorgeous array of ring grain.
