Pete Prevost: Sandblasted Pot with Boxwood Stem Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 002-532-0062
While Pete Prevost crafts a wide variety of different shapes, ranging from compact and chubby to long and lithe, all of his pipes are united by stylish finishes, unique accents, and precise shaping. This Pot is a fine example of the American carver's approach to pipe making and showcases his ability to render Nosewarmer shapes with plenty of character. Measuring just a touch over four inches in length, this piece is incredibly compact and lightweight, making it ideal for on-the-go smoking and easy pocket-carry. The stout, low-slung bowl rests atop a plump, rounded heel, while the shank ebbs from the low-set transition and marries a saddle stem of boxwood out back. Though the overall proportions are abbreviated and diminutive, the bowl, shank, and stem all maintain a harmonious balance within the composition, a testament to the exacting care Prevost takes in rendering his pipes. The bright hues of the hardwood mouthpiece provide a dose of warmth to the pipe's otherwise reserved color palette. A crisp, dark sandblast dresses the stummel and coaxes out rippling growth rings across the flanks of the bowl, providing plenty of tactile and visual intrigue for the fingers and eyes to enjoy.
