Pete Prevost: Smooth Natural Blowfish with Bakelite Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 002-532-0070
The Blowfish is a notoriously difficult shape to craft, requiring precision, careful attention to detail, and an eye for quality briar. Pete Prevost clearly possesses all those characteristics, judging by this artful take on the shape. As is typical for the form, this piece features a playfully asymmetric bowl, one that's unevenly bifurcated by a pair of crisp ridgelines. Said ridgelines accentuate the form's bulging flanks while adding a touch of structural contrast to the shape's supple curves. The transition marks the start of an upturned shank, which itself is bifurcated by a pair of ridgelines. A Bakelite saddle stem tops off the design and continues the shank's trajectory and is additionally shaped to mirror the shank's ridgelines. A smooth, natural finish dresses the stummel and highlights handsome birdseye across the flanks of the bowl. It's a striking design full of character and beautifully advances Prevost's signature shaping style of plump and compact smoking instruments of supreme quality.
