Pete Prevost: Sandblasted Bent Egg Tobacco Pipe

Product Number: 002-532-0071

After carving his first pipe from a pipe kit, Pete Prevost became fascinated with the craft and was afforded the opportunity to study under Jody Davis and Todd Johnson, two of North America's premier carvers. Prevost quickly honed his skills and eventually quit his career as a touring musician to focus on pipe making full-time. He now heads the BriarWorks workshop, but still produces handmade pipes under his own name, like this bent Egg.

Measuring just a touch over four inches in total length, this bent Egg was designed with practicality in mind, its reserved dimension making it ideal for on-the-go smoking and easy pocket-carry. Though the overall form is quite compact, the bowl here boasts a rather muscular build and displays thick insulating walls that rise from the bulbous heel. Said heel sweeps toward the transition and carries momentum into the subtly bent shank-and-stem arrangement. A dark sandblast dresses the stummel and highlights dense clusters of birdseye on either flank of the bowl.
