Peterson: Pipe of the Year 2019 Sandblasted P-Lip
Product Number: 002-029-52912
Peterson's 2019 Pipe of the Year revisits an old classic: the original "999" Rhodesian shape. First appearing in the marque's catalogues in 1937, the "999" was stout and masculine, dubbed the "John Bull" after the national personification of England. Though quite a popular design, it was eventually replaced with a lighter, leaner Rhodesian shape during a period of transition in the 1980s. In 2018, however, Peterson discovered a vintage stummel from a classic John Bull, affording the marque the perfect opportunity to revive this storied shape as the 2019 Pipe of the Year. Complete with the original form's extra stout walls and muscular proportions, the John Bull is presented here in a dark ruby sandblast, topped with a an extra broad sterling silver band and Peterson's patented P-Lip bit.- Andrew Wike
