Peterson: Halloween 2022 Sandblasted (XL16) Fishtail Tobacco Pipe

Originating in Peterson's iconic Sherlock Holmes series, the Professor shape is distinguished as the "XL16" in lines outside of the Sherlock collection. Professor Moriarty, a.k.a. the "Napoleon of Crime" was set as Sherlock Holmes' arch-enemy and lone intellectual equal. Even though he only appeared in two of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's stories, it was implied that he was the absolute patriarch of a sinister international criminal ring so subtle as to make their crimes appear entirely unconnected — including many of those which Holmes had solved. Like Moriarty, the Peterson Professor, or "XL16," is thoroughly bent, specifically a bent Billiard. Unlike the evil mastermind, this piece is comfortable and welcoming, featuring generous proportions all around.

Introduced over a decade ago and lasting only for several years, Peterson's annual Samhain series commemorated the seasonal Gaelic holiday that marked the end of the harvest and the transition to winter — known today as Halloween. The celebration returned in 2021 with Peterson's Halloween pipes, combining the cauldron-black sandblast and blood red-swirled acrylic stem of the marque's iconic Dracula line with nickel army mounts and Charles Peterson's patented System engineering. The Halloween 2022 edition follows that tradition with a distinctly autumnal motif: These pipes maintain the black sandblast and nickel mounts of last year's version, only paired to fishtail stems of vibrant, pumpkin-orange acrylic. The series is offered across Peterson's iconic Classic shapes and is a fitting tribute to Peterson's Irish identity in a representative style that combines recognizable Peterson shaping with a handsome, modernist color palette.
