Peterson: Irish Harp (68) Fishtail Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 002-029-85511
One of Peterson's more classically English shapes, the "68" bent Brandy serves as a curvaceous sibling to the "69" bent Billiard. The "68" features less of the Irish marque's signature style of stout shanks and hearty transitions, instead placing more emphasis on the bowl, with the rounded base and slight taper toward the rim softening the profile. The added briar at the base makes for a substantial in hand feel, and the tapering rim, stretching transition, and comparatively slender shank conform well to wrapped fingers. Fitted on the end of a lithe bend, it's a piece that's comfortable no matter how you choose to hold it, catering well to all smoking postures.
Marked by a smooth, walnut stain and acrylic stem to match, the Irish Harp line from Peterson poses an elegant dress pipe-like aesthetic, the bowl and mouthpiece separated by a generous band of sterling silver. Peterson's craftsmen spend years training under the factory's senior smiths, and the Irish marque is esteemed for its use of sterling silver. In the Irish Harp series, Peterson pays tribute to one of Ireland's most iconic symbols: the Celtic harp or cláirseach in Irish. The traditional instrument is here emblazoned on the silver accent, celebrating Peterson's Irish origins while simultaneously showcasing their superlative silverwork.-Truett Smith
