First released in 2021, Peterson's Carroll of Carrollton series celebrates the shared history of Ireland and the United States by commemorating Charles Carroll of Carrollton, the only Irish-Catholic signer of the Declaration of Independence and Maryland's first United States senator. Now on its third iteration, the Carroll of Carrollton series for 2023 offers a lean Acorn fitted to a lengthy, demi-Churchwarden stem, the overall shape's gestural build and reserved silhouette bringing to mind traditional tavern pipes of yesteryear. Presented across a number of Peterson's most iconic finishes — totaling 247 smooth and 247 sandblasted examples — each piece in the line is accented with a band of sterling silver, which adds a touch of flash to the overall form and showcases Peterson's iconic silverwork as seen on this example in the Heritage finish.
