Peterson: Christmas 2023 Sandblasted (65) Fishtail Tobacco Pipe

In terms of overall scale, Peterson's "65" bent Billiard is one of the Irish marque's smaller bent Billiard renditions, especially when compared to the likes of their "XL90" and "X220." While in a smaller package, however, the "65" still features Peterson's signature sense of proportions — the transition, shank, and stem base all quite robust in relation to the rest of the piece. This design cue separates the Irish aesthetic from that of the French and English pipe making approach, with the "65" towing the line in its compact form but substantial presence. Peterson's Christmas Pipes have been an annual tradition since 2009, the Irish marque dressing a selection of their iconic shapes in appropriately festive fashion. In recent years, Peterson has accented this series with copper, though for 2023, they showcase the skill of their silversmiths by accenting the pipes with broad bands of intricately etched silver. These silver bands feature inset beadlines around the Peterson logo and provide a wealth of contrast against the stummel's finish.
