Peterson: Short Smooth (264) Fishtail Tobacco Pipe

Product Number: 002-029-107090

With a Billiard bowl perched on the end of a trim oval shank, the "264" Canadian is a noticeable departure from Peterson's signature muscular, tubular style. It's also quite similar in execution to the marque's "265" oval-shanked Billiard, especially here in the abbreviated profile of the Shorts line. In such a series, the usually long stretch of the Canadian's shank is diminished, and it's an ideal choice for those who prefer trimmer, sleeker designs but want to experience a shape-chart standard interpreted by one of the most respected names in the business.

The brainchild of Glen Whelan, Peterson's Director of Sales, the Shorts line features nine popular Peterson shapes with abbreviated shanks and vulcanite fishtail stems. The Nosewarmer proportions, combined with the Irish marque's robust shaping style, hearken back to early 20th century pipe design, providing a vintage aesthetic reminiscent of old-school Peterson pipes. Furthermore, each piece is accented by a broad band of sterling silver — the factory's smiths having earned a prestigious reputation for stunning silverwork over the decades. The flashy accoutrement provides a regal contrast against the smoky, walnut stain seen here, presenting a pocket-friendly pipe that doesn't lack in eye-catching appeal.
