Peterson: Saint Patrick's Day 2024 Rusticated (301) P-Lip Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 002-029-110081
The Pot is an inherently muscular shape, the bowl prioritizing breadth over height and often displaying a thick-walled substance in hand. When rendered from Peterson, though, the shape exhibits even more muscularity. The Irish marque's aesthetic is conventionally characterized as stout and hearty, and it's exemplified in Peterson's "301" bent Pot. It's the same shape as the iconic "01" — the shank and transition echoing the robustness of the bowl, while remaining well balanced thanks to the stem's quarter bend — but imbued with Peterson's patented System engineering.
Peterson's longest-standing annual release, the Irish marque's St. Patrick's Day line debuted in 1998. The series is among the marque's most celebrated and highly anticipated releases, and like previous versions, the 2024 rendition pays homage to Kapp & Peterson's storied Irish heritage with a color palette befitting the Emerald Isle. Comprising an assortment of iconic Peterson's shapes in five different finishes, all with System engineering, this release's standout feature is the vibrant green acrylic military mount which replaces the standard nickel variety. The fitment offers a rich dose of contrast to the composition, especially against the black acrylic P-Lip stem, and this particular pipe wears a dark stain and a craggy rustication: further enhancing this contrast.
