Brad Pohlmann: Sandblasted Diamond Shank Canadian with Horn Stem Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 002-381-0129
A bit of boldness to the heel, a gradual taper towards the rim, a broad and crisp diamond shank; this combination makes for a distinctive Pohlmann style of Canadian that we've become familiar with. Along with sporting a very recognizable and consistent style, these Pohlmann Canadians have also kept close to each other in scale, similar in bowl size to a Dunhill Group 2, but with a closer to Group 3 overall length. For this particular rendition Brad did make one big change though, in the switch to horn as the chosen stem material. While this variation on the Canadian shape may be modern in origin, something about its visual balance and lines always gave it a bit of an old French look to my eyes; as such the switch to a stem material that was quite popular before vulcanite seems natural.
