Brad Pohlmann: Sandblasted Speeding Tomato with Camel Bone Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 002-381-0141
Brad Pohlmann's Tomato renditions typically seem to walk a tightrope between overt muscularity and bundled up energy, and this fellow is certainly tiptoeing across it. Actually, it's really barreling across it with poise and confidence, its bulbous cheeks guiding the eye effortlessly to the neatly-tucked transition, while also bolstering the neatly forward-inclined bowl, with its crisply chamfered, smooth-finished rim. A tight line defines the sweeping underside, forming the foundation for the domed shank and coming to rest at a creamy mount of fetching camel bone. Brad's opted for a slightly fancier style of saddle stem than the modernist sort he seems to favor for this type of shape, resulting in an active, lively S-curve in profile. A phenomenal briar from a heavyweight of American pipemaking.
