Brad Pohlmann: Sandblasted Tomato with Black Palm Tobacco Pipe

Product Number: 002-381-0154

After making his so-called "pipe pilgrimage" across Europe, the young Brad Pohlmann eventually returned to the U.S. in the 1970s and began crafting his own pipes at The Briar Workshop in Vermont. He would later pursue a career in computer science before returning to the industry. He now crafts highly engineered pieces that provide comfortable and reliable smoking sessions, including this Tomato. While shape-wise this pipe is traditionally inclined, it also approaches Nosewarmer proportions and maintains a lightweight disposition, making it an ideal option for travel and on-the-go smoking. Rising from a lifted heel, the walls of the squat bowl grow plump as they reach a rim that looks into a compact tobacco chamber. Out back, the transition lends ample room to wrap the thumb as it gives way to a rounded shank that begins the aft's bend toward the bit. The base of the vulcanite saddle stem is adorned with black palm, contrasting the inky hue of the mouthpiece. The stummel is dressed in a lightly-stained sandblast, showcasing handsome growth rings and providing plenty of texture to enjoy.
