PS Studio: Sandblasted Tomato with Boxwood Tobacco Pipe

Product Number: 002-458-0158

While the PS Studio/Grechukhin style isn't related to the Danish school, deriving instead from Vladimir Grechukhin's appreciation for fine industrial and automotive design, they share an emphasis on clean, smooth lines, and, every once and while, a particular PS Studio/Grechukhin shape will turn out with a very Danish aesthetic. This Tomato is not one of them. Oh, it's a smoothly contoured as any Danish shape, but there's nothing soft or supple here. This is a powerful little pocket-sized locomotive rendered in briar, calling to mind some stripped-down form of the Streamline Moderne style, which was itself a stripped-down, go-faster reinterpretation of Art Deco design.
